Download the Installer
Click the download button above to get the latest version of MAITO. The installer file is approximately 142 MB and contains version 2.0.9.

Run the Installer
Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installation wizard. You may need to confirm administrator privileges.

Choose Installation Location
Select where you want to install MAITO on your system. The default location is recommended for most users.

Choose Translation Engine
During the guided onboarding wizard, choose between Local AI (offline, private) or DeepL (cloud, direct document translation). You can use both engines and switch between them anytime. MAITO automatically assesses your hardware and recommends the best AI model for your system.

Download AI Models & Complete Setup
If you choose Local AI, MAITO's GUI wizard will guide you through downloading AI models (2-4GB). The wizard shows progress, estimates time, and even benchmarks performance. For DeepL, just enter your API key. After setup, you're ready to start translating!
Note: After setup, MAITO's Local AI engine works completely offline - internet only needed to download models during onboarding. The optional DeepL engine requires internet when used for cloud-based translation and direct document translation.

Common questions about downloading and installing MAITO
How large is the MAITO installer?
The MAITO installer is approximately 142 MB. If you choose Local AI translation, additional AI models will be downloaded during onboarding (typically 3.2-4.6 GB per model depending on the language pair). MAITO itself requires about 530 MB of disk space. We recommend having at least 6 GB of free disk space for comfortable installation with one AI model.
Do I need an internet connection to use MAITO?
MAITO offers dual-engine flexibility: The Local AI engine works completely offline after you download the AI models during initial setup - no internet required for translation, ensuring complete privacy. The optional DeepL engine requires internet connection for cloud-based translation and direct document translation features. You choose which engine to use based on your needs for each task.
Can I install MAITO on multiple computers?
Each MAITO license is valid for one computer. If you need to use MAITO on multiple devices, you'll need a separate license for each. For business or multi-user licenses, please contact our sales team for volume licensing options.
What happens after the trial period ends?
MAITO offers a 14-day trial period where you can test all features without any limitations. No credit card or personal information is required to start the trial. After 14 days, a wizard will guide you through purchasing a license to continue using MAITO. All your settings, preferences, and downloaded models will be preserved when you activate your license.
What Windows versions are supported?
MAITO officially supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit only). While it may work on Windows Server editions, these are not officially supported or tested. We recommend using MAITO on desktop Windows versions for the best experience.
How do I update MAITO to the latest version?
MAITO includes automatic update notifications. When a new version is available, you'll be prompted to download and install it. Updates are free for all licensed users and can be installed with a single click.
